Every Toastmasters meeting assigns a Timer, and it is one of the first roles most new members take on. You track how long each speaker talks, show them a green, yellow, or red signal as they pass each threshold, and report the exact times at the end. Standard Toastmasters Timing Rules

How to Use the Timer in Your Meeting

You do not need an account, a download, or any setup. Open the timer, pick the speech type, and press start when the speaker begins.

  1. Open the timer. Use it in any browser at the web app, or add it to Zoom so it runs beside your meeting.
  2. Load the agenda. Paste your meeting roles and the agenda builds itself, or add speakers one at a time.
  3. Pick the speech type. Standard Speech, Table Topics, Evaluation and the other roles each carry their own green, yellow, and red thresholds already.
  4. Start when the speaker starts. The screen turns green at the minimum, yellow at the midpoint, and red at the maximum — no cards to hold up and no stopwatch to read.
